We recently submitted a paper to the 25th IEEE International Parallel & Distributed Processing Symposium (IPDPS), http://www.ipdps.org/, Evolving N-Body Simulations to Determine the Origin and Structure of the Milky Way Galaxy’s Halo using Volunteer Computing. You can take a look at it here: http://www.cs.rpi.edu/~deselt/ipdps_2011.pdf This paper goes into a lot of detail about what we're doing with the N-Body simulations and what we hope to learn about the Milky Way and it's halo from doing them. It also has details about the different N-Body searches we have been and are running (what models of the Milky Way they are using, and things like taht). Please feel free to ask any questions, however simple or complex in this thread. We'd be more than happy to answer these, because you're the one's making this research possible after all. Thanks again! --Travis |

damage, this pdf too long to translate with google ... and therefore the conprendre ... I think the paper is 12 pages long or so, and pretty technical, so I'd imagine google would have trouble with it. I wish my French was good enough to translate it. :) Here's a translated abstract, but I have a feeling it may miss the mark in some spots:

Thank you for this very interesting little summary Hopefully in the future as applications go out for GPU Nvidia GTX 4xx for N_body and all other sub-projects ...?! Thank you to keep the Nvidiatien ... I wish you good luck to you and your team for your research and application development ... Regards ...
