ROTFL!! NO NO NO I was asking because I was wondering if you were spreading yourself across other projects too or just focusing here, right now I'm mostly focusing but as or right now only have 1/4 to 1/3 of all my machines up and running. And if you really want to do a p?ss?ng match look at my signature!!! I've been doing Boinc since the mid 1980's!!! For me though credits are meaningless except to see how a pc is doing today versus yesterday or a month from now, BUT I am pretty proud of being #4 in the World!!!

I have a graph. Yeah, weird I know. My position in each project over the last year. I often use it to decide what to have a go at. I've just put everything on Einstein for a day (sorry Tom). I do like steep sloping lines showing I've passed 100s of people. I get like that in running races. I don't care how fast I ran, I care how many people I beat.

The only thing better than a steep slope is a hyperbolic curve. These can be seen in nature on things I'd get banned for mentioning.

As for credits I have a bit over 12 million on all of Number Fields, a bit over 10 million credits at TN-Grid, almost 76.5 million credits at the Distributed Hardware Evolution Project, 30.75 million credits at World Community Grid and just over 5 million credits at Acoustics, while I have almost 3.5 million credits at Enigma@home. You can see that credits are not a representation of how many hours you put in at a given project. Here at MilkyWay I have a bit over 62 million hours and almost 500 million credits.

What are Distributed Hardware Evolution Project and Acoustics@home? One doesn't respond and the other makes a lot of warnings in my browser like someone took over the site and made it nasty.

Distributed Hardware Evolution Project is no longer accepting new users or even some older ones like me that haven't crunched there in a long time Acoustics is no longer in existence.

Yes generally speaking a newer cpu being faster should earn more credits than an older cpu but being able to put ALOT of cpu cores on one project can offset that advantage someone else might have. ie you said you have 96 cpu cores here at MilkyWay, if someone were to put 200, or more, older cpu cores here than your advantage would be mitigated in a head to head competition.

Yes but the Project has died out like so many others so they are now sitting on the shelf gathering dust. It was a Boinc Project called Bitcoin Utopia and the idea was to crunch using cpu's, gpu's and or asic miners to generate money to donate to things like someone wrote a book on how to populate Mars, another time we sent money to some of the stats sites, one time we even helped fund another Boinc Project. But like alot of Boinc Projects over the years it's not gone by the wayside, you have to remember back when Bitcoins weren't were more than a dollar or so each so it took awhile to send some $1500US.

The reason a bunch of older tasks don't validate is because their second task got cancelled, but no new task is being generated for it, it seems.

The only thing it should be based on is how many calculations you did, how many tasks completed. How much good you have done for the project. Someone with newer faster cores, or someone with more cores, deserves to get more credits. And if you use Gridcoin, credits mean more than bragging rights. Which is why Gridcoin bans projects that can't control their credits, like LHC.
