The same thing happens to me, I get a message, "failed to add the project, please try again later", it happens to me since the last server problems, in other projects I do not have this problem except with Cosmology that also happens to me, what I do not understand is that if I can log in the Milkway@home page with username and password that is the same as in the Boinc project without any problem, also say that I do not use any account manager, I would appreciate that some expert of the project solve this problem. Thanks and greetings. |

I have exactly the same issue as you two are describing. I wonder when it will be fixed, as it's been like this for the past 3 weeks... |

I have the same problem. Did you try removing the http:// and/or https:// altogether? That works for me when trying to get to the Cosmology Project, I think it's a byproduct of everyone going to https and they have missed some things |

same here. sending to http instead results in the connection being reissued in https and then gets fatal ssl/tls error. 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | Fetching configuration file from https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/get_project_config.php 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | [http] HTTP_OP::init_get(): https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/get_project_config.php 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | [http] [ID#2] Info: Too old connection (146 seconds idle), disconnect it 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | [http] [ID#2] Info: Connection 175 seems to be dead 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | [http] [ID#2] Info: Closing connection 175 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | [http] [ID#2] Info: schannel: shutting down SSL/TLS connection with www.google.com port 443 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | [http] [ID#2] Info: Hostname in DNS cache was stale, zapped 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | [http] [ID#2] Info: Trying 128.113.126.23:443... 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | [http] [ID#2] Info: Connected to milkyway.cs.rpi.edu (128.113.126.23) port 443 (#177) 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | [http] [ID#2] Info: schannel: disabled automatic use of client certificate 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | [http] [ID#2] Info: ALPN: offers http/1.1 2022-11-03 8:21:56 AM | | [http] [ID#2] Info: schannel: next InitializeSecurityContext failed: SEC_E_ILLEGAL_MESSAGE (0x80090326) - This error usually occurs when a fatal SSL/TLS alert is received (e.g. handshake failed). OK. So it turns out the Windows Update fix is for real. I didn't get access to the the update required for 6 days. First, I have to "upgrade" from Windows 10 Home 21H1 to Windows 10 Home 22H2. Then after a reboot I ran Windows Update and got the cumulative update for 22H2 (KB5018482). After another reboot Milkyway files were downloaded, wu ran, files uploaded. Everything worked. :) Hope this helps someone. |
