I don't know if this detail will help, but I had no problem re-adding the project on my PC's running Windows. However, I received the same "Please try again later" message as some others when attempting to re-add the project on my PC's running Linux. Try coping the milkyway???.xml file from your Windows pc's and pasting it into you Linux pc and you should be online without having to 'sign in' again I do it all the time when I bring up a new pc either from a crash or a rebuild or just a new pc, drive or OS. You can find the windows one in c:\program data\Boinc and in Linux it goes in the var/lib/boinc folder. YES the file is the exact same in Windows and Linux and it even works for Mac's as well. |

Sorry about FAQ or bug report, I still cannot contact (re-attach milkyway until now, the time of this article posted) In my case, I am using another squid proxy (http proxy and https proxy) and I figured out that boinc did not use https proxy but only http proxy. Anyway, the local boinc client reported: 93: 03-Nov-2023 11:37:03 (low) [http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/] project suspended by user 94: 03-Nov-2023 11:37:10 (low) [http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/] update requested by user 95: 03-Nov-2023 11:37:18 (low) [] Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 96: 03-Nov-2023 11:37:20 (low) [] Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. my attachment command is here: boinccmd --project_attach http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/ <key-is-here> My squid server access log is here: 2023-11-03T11:37:16.688+<TZ> 496 <IP> TCP_MISS/302 351 GET http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/ <user> HIER_DIRECT/milkyway.cs.rpi.edu text/html 2023-11-03T11:37:17.924+<TZ> 1127 <IP> TCP_TUNNEL/200 6950 CONNECT milkyway.cs.rpi.edu:443 <user> HIER_DIRECT/milkyway.cs.rpi.edu - Are we waiting for some good things happened> Thanks for any advice |

It's doing well on my end so far i was able to re-add Milkyway without any problems :) it's going as fast as it should now yeye!. Perhaps the sluggishness i experienced before is because i'm on Windows 11 or the increasing number of people doing tasks. |

There's a problem with the certificate chain on the new server. If you want to get up and going before they get it replaced drop these 2 certs into your machine cert-store. -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- MIIF3jCCA8agAwIBAgIQAf1tMPyjylGoG7xkDjUDLTANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQwFADCB iDELMAkGA1UEBhMCVVMxEzARBgNVBAgTCk5ldyBKZXJzZXkxFDASBgNVBAcTC0pl cnNleSBDaXR5MR4wHAYDVQQKExVUaGUgVVNFUlRSVVNUIE5ldHdvcmsxLjAsBgNV BAMTJVVTRVJUcnVzdCBSU0EgQ2VydGlmaWNhdGlvbiBBdXRob3JpdHkwHhcNMTAw MjAxMDAwMDAwWhcNMzgwMTE4MjM1OTU5WjCBiDELMAkGA1UEBhMCVVMxEzARBgNV BAgTCk5ldyBKZXJzZXkxFDASBgNVBAcTC0plcnNleSBDaXR5MR4wHAYDVQQKExVU aGUgVVNFUlRSVVNUIE5ldHdvcmsxLjAsBgNVBAMTJVVTRVJUcnVzdCBSU0EgQ2Vy dGlmaWNhdGlvbiBBdXRob3JpdHkwggIiMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4ICDwAwggIK AoICAQCAEmUXNg7D2wiz0KxXDXbtzSfTTK1Qg2HiqiBNCS1kCdzOiZ/MPans9s/B 3PHTsdZ7NygRK0faOca8Ohm0X6a9fZ2jY0K2dvKpOyuR+OJv0OwWIJAJPuLodMkY tJHUYmTbf6MG8YgYapAiPLz+E/CHFHv25B+O1ORRxhFnRghRy4YUVD+8M/5+bJz/ Fp0YvVGONaanZshyZ9shZrHUm3gDwFA66Mzw3LyeTP6vBZY1H1dat//O+T23LLb2 VN3I5xI6Ta5MirdcmrS3ID3KfyI0rn47aGYBROcBTkZTmzNg95S+UzeQc0PzMsNT 79uq/nROacdrjGCT3sTHDN/hMq7MkztReJVni+49Vv4M0GkPGw/zJSZrM233bkf6 c0Plfg6lZrEpfDKEY1WJxA3Bk1QwGROs0303p+tdOmw1XNtB1xLaqUkL39iAigmT Yo61Zs8liM2EuLE/pDkP2QKe6xJMlXzzawWpXhaDzLhn4ugTncxbgtNMs+1b/97l c6wjOy0AvzVVdAlJ2ElYGn+SNuZRkg7zJn0cTRe8yexDJtC/QV9AqURE9JnnV4ee UB9XVKg+/XRjL7FQZQnmWEIuQxpMtPAlR1n6BB6T1CZGSlCBst6+eLf8ZxXhyVeE Hg9j1uliutZfVS7qXMYoCAQlObgOK6nyTJccBz8NUvXt7y+CDwIDAQABo0IwQDAd BgNVHQ4EFgQUU3m/WqorSs9UgOHYm8Cd8rIDZsswDgYDVR0PAQH/BAQDAgEGMA8G A1UdEwEB/wQFMAMBAf8wDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEMBQADggIBAFzUfA3P9wF9QZllDHPF Up/L+M+ZBn8b2kMVn54CVVeWFPFSPCeHlCjtHzoBN6J2/FNQwISbxmtOuowhT6KO VWKR82kV2LyI48SqC/3vqOlLVSoGIG1VeCkZ7l8wXEskEVX/JJpuXior7gtNn3/3 ATiUFJVDBwn7YKnuHKsSjKCaXqeYalltiz8I+8jRRa8YFWSQEg9zKC7F4iRO/Fjs 8PRF/iKz6y+O0tlFYQXBl2+odnKPi4w2r78NBc5xjeambx9spnFixdjQg3IM8WcR iQycE0xyNN+81XHfqnHd4blsjDwSXWXavVcStkNr/+XeTWYRUc+ZruwXtuhxkYze Sf7dNXGiFSeUHM9h4ya7b6NnJSFd5t0dCy5oGzuCr+yDZ4XUmFF0sbmZgIn/f3gZ XHlKYC6SQK5MNyosycdiyA5d9zZbyuAlJQG03RoHnHcAP9Dc1ew91Pq7P8yF1m9/ qS3fuQL39ZeatTXaw2ewh0qpKJ4jjv9cJ2vhsE/zB+4ALtRZh8tSQZXq9EfX7mRB VXyNWQKV3WKdwrnuWih0hKWbt5DHDAff9Yk2dDLWKMGwsAvgnEzDHNb842m1R0aB L6KCq9NjRHDEjf8tM7qtj3u1cIiuPhnPQCjY/MiQu12ZIvVS5ljFH4gxQ+6IHdfG jjxDah2nGN59PRbxYvnKkKj9 -----END CERTIFICATE----- -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- MIIGSjCCBDKgAwIBAgIRAINbdhUgbS1uCX4LbkCf78AwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEMBQAw gYgxCzAJBgNVBAYTAlVTMRMwEQYDVQQIEwpOZXcgSmVyc2V5MRQwEgYDVQQHEwtK ZXJzZXkgQ2l0eTEeMBwGA1UEChMVVGhlIFVTRVJUUlVTVCBOZXR3b3JrMS4wLAYD VQQDEyVVU0VSVHJ1c3QgUlNBIENlcnRpZmljYXRpb24gQXV0aG9yaXR5MB4XDTIy MTExNjAwMDAwMFoXDTMyMTExNTIzNTk1OVowRDELMAkGA1UEBhMCVVMxEjAQBgNV BAoTCUludGVybmV0MjEhMB8GA1UEAxMYSW5Db21tb24gUlNBIFNlcnZlciBDQSAy MIIBojANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQEFAAOCAY8AMIIBigKCAYEAifBcxDi60DRXr5dVoPQi Q/w+GBE62216UiEGMdbUt7eSiIaFj/iZ/xiFop0rWuH4BCFJ3kSvQF+aIhEsOnuX R6mViSpUx53HM5ApIzFIVbd4GqY6tgwaPzu/XRI/4Dmz+hoLW/i/zD19iXvS95qf NU8qP7/3/USf2/VNSUNmuMKlaRgwkouue0usidYK7V8W3ze+rTFvWR2JtWKNTInc NyWD3GhVy/7G09PwTAu7h0qqRyTkETLf+z7FWtc8c12f+SfvmKHKFVqKpNPtgMkr wqwaOgOOD4Q00AihVT+UzJ6MmhNPGg+/Xf0BavmXKCGDTv5uzQeOdD35o/Zw16V4 C4J4toj1WLY7hkVhrzKG+UWJiSn8Hv3dUTj4dkneJBNQrUfcIfTHV3gCtKwXn1eX mrxhH+tWu9RVwsDegRG0s28OMdVeOwljZvYrUjRomutNO5GzynveVxJVCn3Cbn7a c4L+5vwPNgs04DdOAGzNYdG5t6ryyYPosSLH2B8qDNzxAgMBAAGjggFwMIIBbDAf BgNVHSMEGDAWgBRTeb9aqitKz1SA4dibwJ3ysgNmyzAdBgNVHQ4EFgQU70wAkqb7 di5eleLJX4cbGdVN4tkwDgYDVR0PAQH/BAQDAgGGMBIGA1UdEwEB/wQIMAYBAf8C AQAwHQYDVR0lBBYwFAYIKwYBBQUHAwEGCCsGAQUFBwMCMCIGA1UdIAQbMBkwDQYL KwYBBAGyMQECAmcwCAYGZ4EMAQICMFAGA1UdHwRJMEcwRaBDoEGGP2h0dHA6Ly9j cmwudXNlcnRydXN0LmNvbS9VU0VSVHJ1c3RSU0FDZXJ0aWZpY2F0aW9uQXV0aG9y aXR5LmNybDBxBggrBgEFBQcBAQRlMGMwOgYIKwYBBQUHMAKGLmh0dHA6Ly9jcnQu dXNlcnRydXN0LmNvbS9VU0VSVHJ1c3RSU0FBQUFDQS5jcnQwJQYIKwYBBQUHMAGG GWh0dHA6Ly9vY3NwLnVzZXJ0cnVzdC5jb20wDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEMBQADggIBACaA DTTkHq4ivq8+puKE+ca3JbH32y+odcJqgqzDts5bgsapBswRYypjmXLel11Q2U6w rySldlIjBRDZ8Ah8NOs85A6MKJQLaU9qHzRyG6w2UQTzRwx2seY30Mks3ZdIe9rj s5rEYliIOh9Dwy8wUTJxXzmYf/A1Gkp4JJp0xIhCVR1gCSOX5JW6185kwid242bs Lm0vCQBAA/rQgxvLpItZhC9US/r33lgtX/cYFzB4jGOd+Xs2sEAUlGyu8grLohYh kgWN6hqyoFdOpmrl8yu7CSGV7gmVQf9viwVBDIKm+2zLDo/nhRkk8xA0Bb1BqPzy bPESSVh4y5rZ5bzB4Lo2YN061HV9+HDnnIDBffNIicACdv4JGyGfpbS6xsi3UCN1 5ypaG43PJqQ0UnBQDuR60io1ApeSNkYhkaHQ9Tk/0C4A+EM3MW/KFuU53eHLVlX9 ss1iG2AJfVktaZ2l/SbY7py8JUYMkL/jqZBRjNkD6srsmpJ6utUMmAlt7m1+cTX8 6/VEBc5Dp9VfuD6hNbNKDSg7YxyEVaBqBEtN5dppj4xSiCrs6LxLHnNo3rG8VJRf NVQdgFbMb7dOIBokklzfmU69lS0kgyz2mZMJmW2G/hhEdddJWHh3FcLi2MaeYiOV RFrLHtJvXEdf2aEaZ0LOb2Xo3zO6BJvjXldv2woN -----END CERTIFICATE----- Nick |

Not able to add the new version for over 24 hours. Here is the log file: We are up to version 7.24.1 now which makes some things better ie one thing that helps me is if you use an app.config file to limit the number of tasks running for project a to ensure tasks run from project b Boinc will fill the cache based on the number of tasks you are running. Some projects still ignore this setting but for most it works just fine. |

Latest Mint version installed and still the same problem Is it your everyday pc or just a cruncher pc? I also use Linux Mint on some of my pc's that are Boinc crunchers only and am still on an older version that works great, version 20.3 and then turn off the auto updates and don't do any updates besides updating the Nvidia drivers. |

Perhaps too much registrations in too short time? On my side the win10 was successful, two debian not. |

Changed two of my hosts to milkyway-new. In both hosts it downloaded new work which is being processed. I will not change my other hosts to milkyway-new until I see that completed work is being processed and credited in here and BOINC/BAM.. JB |

My Mint box pretty much just crunches Are you getting an error when you click the "Update" button on the BOINC manager such that it wont send completed workunits? |

It is both running and crediting my tasks fine on my end, and looking at the server status there's thousands of tasks running and currently 25 waiting to be credited. I've seen one or two tasks failing though but that's to be expected. If you see any sluggishness because of the amount of tasks being done i would suggest running two NFS tasks then go back to your Milkyway task which seems to speed it right up. |
